As President of Verisk 3E, Edmund Webecke is responsible for determining the overall strategic direction of the company, identifying new market opportunities and overseeing the company’s aggressive international and domestic growth plan. Prior to his appointment, he most recently served as Senior Vice President of Business Development at Verisk Insurance Solutions and was primarily responsible for the international expansion of the business. Previously, Mr. Webecke held several posts within the Xactware claims unit of Verisk Insurance Solutions where he was responsible for business development, executive customer relationships, product pricing, partnerships, M&A, contracts, negotiations and international business development. He joined the Verisk family of companies in 1996 as a Software Engineer and has held several other positions, including Project Manager, Manager of Development, and General Manager of an underwriting products subsidiary.
Mr. Webecke is a graduate of Brigham Young University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science; the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah, where he received a Master of Business Administration degree; and Concord Law School, where he received a Juris Doctor degree. He has been an active member of the State Bar of California since 2006.
Chief Information Officer
Leo Oves brings more than 30 years of IT, EHS and management experience to Verisk 3E. He joined Ariel Research Corporation in 1992 as a senior software consultant and later became CIO and Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors of Ariel, prior to its acquisition by Eastman Chemical in 2001. Following Ariel's acquisition by Verisk 3E (then 3E Company) in 2004, Mr. Oves served as Vice President, R&D and CIO.
Over the years, Mr. Oves' knowledge and application of advanced technology to the business needs of customers have played a pivotal role in the development of Verisk 3E's products and services. He is a recognized industry expert and represents Verisk 3E at numerous international IT and EHS forums.
Prior to joining Ariel, Mr. Oves worked for several research institutes in St. Petersburg, Russia, developing models and software for the optimization of large multi-product marine transportation networks and satellite communications. Upon moving to the U.S., he worked as a software development consultant for Hughes Network Systems and Plantronics.
Mr. Oves earned Operations Research, Computer Science and Management degrees from the University of St. Petersburg, Russia and University of Maryland and Executive Certificate in Strategy and Innovation from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
Matthew A. Johnston
Senior Vice President, Global Business Development and Marketing
As Senior Vice President of Global Business Development, Matthew Johnston is responsible for leading Sales and Marketing in their efforts to expand customer relationships, penetrate new accounts, respond to new market opportunities and contribute to the aggressive international and domestic growth plan of the company.
Mr. Johnston brings nearly 20 years of experience to Verisk 3E. Prior to his current position, he served as the Director of Sales and Business Development, responsible for driving the success of Verisk 3E and 3E Generate (formerly MSDgen) with regards to sales, marketing, and product management. He has participated in major strategic initiatives to integrate 3E Generate with other Verisk 3E Solutions, as well as contributed to numerous product developments, content development and thought leadership activities.
He has been part of Verisk 3E since the 2007 acquisition of HSE Systems where he was one of the original principals and served as Director of Business Development, responsible for business development, sales and marketing. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Business Management and Marketing from Kent State University.
Senior Vice President, Services
Clark VanScoder has more than 25 years of software development experience. He was the first employee and one of the original partners of the former HSE Systems organization that was purchased by Verisk 3E in 2007. He was the driving force behind the growth of Verisk 3E's Authoring platform, 3E Generate (formerly MSDgen). He has managed numerous successful large 3E Generate implementation projects for Fortune 500 companies around the globe during his nearly 20 years of experience in the EHS industry.
As Senior VP of Services, Mr. VanScoder is responsible for managing the development, project management, and technical service efforts for all services within Verisk 3E, including outsourced SDS authoring, regulatory consulting, hotline and emergency response services, and facility EHS services. He also leads the company's data obtainment and manufacturer relations teams who are dedicated to collecting data from our network of more than 150,000 supplier manufacturers.
Mr. VanScoder received a Bachelor of Science degree from Kent State University and an MBA in Management from Akron University.
Vice President, Finance & Accounting
As Vice President of Finance and Accounting, Justin Byron leads the development and execution of Verisk 3E’s financial strategy, establishing financial performance objectives, managing financial processes and systems, and providing guidance on mergers and acquisitions. He also oversees the company’s accounting, accounts receivable and financial planning and analysis functions.
Mr. Byron brings a wealth of diverse experience to Verisk 3E, having held several financial leadership roles within the technology, energy, and healthcare industries. Prior to joining Verisk 3E, he led the corporate finance team at ServiceNow, where he was responsible for managing all financial planning and analysis activities, including the preparation and management of the annual plan, quarterly forecasts, and long-term financial planning. He has also previously held leadership positions with Asurion and GE, and is a graduate of GE’s Financial Management Program.
Mr. Byron earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Louisville and a Master of Business Administration degree from Vanderbilt University.
Vice President, Global Regulatory Content
Alex Ortiz has been with Verisk 3E for more than 20 years, supporting customers on a wide range of international regulatory compliance issues and leading various product development projects designed to provide regulatory compliance professionals with timely EHS information on a global basis. Mr. Ortiz manages the global regulatory content piece of the business, ensuring the production and delivery of Verisk 3E's regulatory reference products and integrated content for third party platforms.
He received his Juris Doctor degree from the George Washington University Law School.
Vice President, Product and Support
Tamie Webber has been with Verisk 3E for more than a decade, starting out as a product manager for the company's flagship SDS management application. With a proven aptitude for defining and implementing product strategy, her responsibility has expanded to include the overall strategy and direction for all products including Verisk 3E's supply chain stewardship platform, SDS authoring and distribution software, integrated content solutions, SDS and chemical management solutions, and regulatory research and monitoring tools. She also has responsibility for global customer support.
Ms. Webber joined Verisk 3E after several years of marketing and product management experience in the chemical distribution and high tech industries, working for Great Western Chemical Distribution. She attended the University of Oregon where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and Marketing.
Vice President, Operations
As Vice President of Operations, Jason Rollingson is responsible for developing and executing Verisk 3E's people strategy, which encompasses operational metrics, productivity, employee engagement and development, benefits, compensation, global staffing, physical facilities, and organizational health. He leads the company's Legal and Human Resources teams, providing leadership to internal teams and initiatives aimed at helping shape the organization's culture.
Mr. Rollingson brings more than 15 years of experience in human resources to Verisk 3E. Prior to joining the company, Mr. Rollingson oversaw HR Operations for seven Solera Holdings companies. Earlier in his career he held HR management positions with WIS International, an American Capital company, and Deccan International.
Mr. Rollingson is a graduate of San Diego State University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Administration; and the Marshall Goldsmith School of Management at Alliant International University, where he received a Masters of Arts degree in Industrial Organizational Psychology. He is certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) by the HR Certification Institute and as a SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) by the Society for Human Resource Management.
